Comparison
GuestEQ vs Flexkeeping: where two hotel operations platforms overlap and differ
The short answer
Flexkeeping is a housekeeping, maintenance, and quality-assurance platform built around automation from PMS data, with named integrations including Mews, Apaleo, and Oracle OPERA; Mews acquired it in 2025. GuestEQ overlaps on housekeeping, inspections, maintenance, and tasks, and adds team chat, group-sales follow-up, and owner reporting, adopted per property alongside existing systems. Flexkeeping suits operations teams that want work generated automatically from the PMS. GuestEQ suits portfolios that want to choose different modules at different hotels and coordinate beyond housekeeping and maintenance.

Where the differences matter
Automation or assigned work
Flexkeeping's distinguishing idea is automation. It describes automated services that turn PMS data into service tasks, a no-code workflow builder in beta, and Flexie AI, a multilingual assistant that automates tasks and translates in real time[14], source 14[13], source 13[15], source 15. In GuestEQ, supervisors assign rooms and department heads assign tasks; AI reads imported room and lead reports, suggests guest replies, and writes insight text, with people deciding what happens next.
Who benefits: high-volume properties where arrivals and departures should generate housekeeping and service work automatically will get more from Flexkeeping's documented automation. Where the problem is that assigned work is not followed through, the automation matters less than the accountability record.
The housekeeping and maintenance overlap
Both document housekeeping scheduling, inspections, maintenance tasks, and preventive work. Flexkeeping adds staffing forecasts, inspection issues reported by photo, video, or voice, and coordination with external contractors[19], source 19[20], source 20[21], source 21. GuestEQ adds an inspection history that records the housekeeper, the inspector, times, and rating, and preventive-maintenance cycles that separate completed items from ones marked not applicable.
When it matters: if contractors do much of your maintenance, Flexkeeping documents that workflow. If you need to reconstruct who inspected a room last Tuesday, compare the inspection records side by side.
Team communication today
Flexkeeping documents shift handover notes, and describes its team chat as in beta with selected clients and coming soon for all properties[17], source 17[13], source 13[18], source 18. GuestEQ includes team chat organized by brand, management company, and hotel, alongside categorized pass-along and incident notes. If chat is part of why you are buying, confirm what is available at your properties now.
Guest requests
Flexkeeping tracks ad-hoc and pre-arrival guest requests as tasks, and says guests do not message the team through Flexkeeping; requests arrive through PMS and guest-app integrations[17], source 17[13], source 13. GuestEQ includes guest text messaging sent by your team but does not claim a dedicated request-routing workflow. Neither is a complete guest-messaging-and-requests suite on its own documentation, so check what your guest app or PMS already provides.
Scope beyond housekeeping and maintenance
GuestEQ includes group lead stages and follow-up, and an Owner's Report written by your team. Flexkeeping documents a daily operational overview per property and department and cross-property benchmarks[22], source 22; we did not find group sales or a dedicated owner report on its pages.
Who benefits: portfolios where one system should cover the GM's sales follow-up and the monthly owner report as well as the housekeeping board.
Ownership, integrations, and rollout
Mews announced its acquisition of Flexkeeping on September 30, 2025[16], source 16. Flexkeeping names PMS integrations beyond Mews, publishes its pricing model, and says set-up can take as little as 24 hours depending on the property[13], source 13. GuestEQ works from imported reports and email ingestion rather than published PMS integrations, and prices by proposal. For hotels on Mews, the acquisition may be an advantage; for hotels on other PMS, ask how the roadmap treats them.
Choose GuestEQ if…
- You want to choose different modules at different hotels across a mixed portfolio.
- Team chat and shift handoffs need to be available at every property now.
- Group-sales follow-up and a team-written owner report belong in the same system as operations.
- Your main gap is follow-through on assigned work rather than generating the work automatically.
Consider Flexkeeping if…
- You want housekeeping and service tasks generated automatically from PMS data.
- Your PMS is on Flexkeeping's list, particularly if you run Mews.
- External contractors handle much of your maintenance.
- You want staffing forecasts, a quality-assurance suite, and a published onboarding estimate.
Questions to ask in a Flexkeeping demo
Run the same room-turn and maintenance scenario in both demos.
Automation: Which housekeeping and maintenance tasks are created automatically from our PMS data, and which does a supervisor still set?
Integration: Does the integration with our specific PMS support automated services, or only room status?
Portfolio control: Show us the group view: which benchmarks and checklists can corporate see across properties?
Communication: Is team chat available to our properties today, or still in beta?
Reporting: What would we give owners each month, and is it produced from Flexkeeping directly?
Implementation: What does onboarding look like for a portfolio rather than a single property, and what drives the timing?
Roadmap: How is Flexkeeping being developed now that it is part of Mews, particularly for hotels on other PMS?
Pricing: What are the setup fee and monthly per-room price for our properties?
Frequently asked questions
Is Flexkeeping part of Mews now?
Yes. Mews announced its acquisition of Flexkeeping on September 30, 2025. The product is still sold under the Flexkeeping name. If product direction matters to your decision, ask how Flexkeeping will develop alongside other Mews products.
Do you need Mews as your PMS to use Flexkeeping?
No. Flexkeeping names integrations with several PMS, including Mews, Cloudbeds, RMS Cloud, Apaleo, Shiji, and Oracle OPERA.
Which product automates more of the housekeeping day?
Flexkeeping documents automated services built from PMS data, dynamic cleaning schedules, and an AI assistant, with a no-code workflow builder in beta. In GuestEQ, room assignments, tasks, and checklists are set by people, and AI is limited to reading imported reports, suggesting guest replies, and writing insight text.
Does Flexkeeping have team chat?
Flexkeeping describes its team chat as in use with selected beta clients and coming soon for all properties, and documents shift handover notes. GuestEQ includes team chat by brand, company, and hotel, plus pass-along and end-of-shift notes.
How does pricing compare?
Flexkeeping publishes its pricing model, a one-time setup and onboarding fee plus a monthly subscription based on the number of rooms, but not its prices. GuestEQ prices by proposal, scoped to the modules and properties you select.
