GuestEQ started inside a real hotel portfolio that needed a better way to connect staff, leadership, and guests. Today, it powers AI-native operations for owners, management companies, and GMs who want cleaner operations and better performance across every property.

From one portfolio to hotels everywhere

In 2019, GuestEQ launched at Reneson Hotels, an owner-operator of properties across Northern California. The goal was simple: modernize daily operations, improve guest communication, and give teams a single place to run the day.

Within months, the results were clear—higher guest satisfaction, smoother staff communication, and more predictable operations. By 2020, after seeing how strongly GuestEQ improved both workflow efficiency and guest experience, the team decided to share the platform with a wider market of owners and management companies.

Today, GuestEQ is evolving into an AI-native operating system for hotels, giving every stakeholder—from front desk to ownership—a clear, prioritized view of what matters most.

Scott served as a General Manager at several hotels for more than 14 years before becoming Chief Operating Officer at Reneson, an owner-operator of multiple properties in Northern California. After searching for a tool that could meaningfully improve guest messaging and bring operational workflows online—and finding nothing that worked the way his teams needed—he decided to build one himself.

Ryan is a veteran of several startups and was employee #23 at Yammer, where he led global sales and helped shape the product story. He brings a focus on engineering culture, simplicity in design, and telling the story of a product in a way that resonates with real operators.
